It scares me to realize that all I learned about manners and etiquette in general as a child no longer matter. Maybe somewhere in the last generation parents didn't feel that they were important enough to teach their children. Do you agree with me, I would love to know what you think.

Field Guide: Millennials Vs. Baby Boomers

MillennialsVSboomers-FTR

Born between 1981-1997, millennials—also called Gen Yers—are digital natives who grew up in a world of constant connectivity. They’re highly social, hugely optimistic and relentlessly determined to change the world for the better. And they’re doing it on their own timetable. For this generation, 30 really is the new 20.

Born between 1946-1964, boomers have witnessed everything from the first moon landing on black-and-white TV to today’s social networks, and have redefined American politics, social mores and popular culture. With another boomer turning 50 every seven seconds, this generation is a “Silver Tsunami” that’s redefining aging, much as they did youth in the 1960s, when their motto was “don’t trust anyone over 30.” Living longer and working harder than ever, boomers have introduced us to the concept of the “second act.” Their optimism and idealism has been their hallmark for decades, keeping them resilient-—even in the face of a growing disenchantment with politicians, corporations and authority figures.

What happened to being polite and respectful?

Help!! There are just too many to remember.

Is this the new reality we all have to look forward too? Do you have any problems remembering your passwords for all of your devices?

On CBS News Sunday Morning, there was a fantastic piece on the lost art of conversation.
Millennials, according to MIT professor and best-selling author Sherry Turkle, are more interested in texting than conversation. According to Turkle, conversation is uncomfortable because:   Conversation happens in real time, unlike texting.

I guess manners are not the only things that are obsolete!!!

The millennials can really relate to this, because almost all of their learning was taught on computers, and not the way we learned  with books. Do you agree with me, or am I wrong?!

Can we truly carry on a conversation with each other?

Do we really know how to communicate? I mean to truly listen and respond to each other in a positive manner? What do you think?

Do we remember how to talk to each other?

Before all of these electronics, we had no choice but to converse with each other, and believe me it was fun! The more you learn about each other the more interested you are to learn more.

Is this a possibility?

Funny, I am not the only one that feels that conversation is a lost art! What do you think? Share your thoughts with me about this.
